On January 14, our club co-hosted the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs (NJSFWC) Highland District Council and Program Assistance Day. This was WCPTH’S 4th time co-hosting the meeting. This year the Lake Hopatcong Woman’s Club worked as co-hostesses. The meeting is held to provide club members with upcoming local and Federation club information. There were 53 attendees representing the 29 Woman’s Clubs in the area.
State Chairmen present were: Ethel Simmons, District Vice President; Joyce Fredricks, NJSFWC Financial Secretary; Marjorie Strohsahl, District Chairman National Association for Mental Illness (NAMI) and Kathy Hunterton, NJSFWC Convention Credentials and Registration. Marjorie encouraged members to plan to walk on Saturday, May 16 in Ocean County for NAMI NJ WALK – a walk to create awareness about mental health. Joyce spoke on General Federation Women’s Club Signature Project for Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention. And Kathy provided information on the Annual NJSFWC Convention which will be held May 4-6 in Atlantic City. At the afternoon session the various clubs presented a recap of last year’s club programs and fundraisers.
The meeting was held at the Lake Parsippany Rescue & Recovery Building. A light lunch was provided by WCPTH and desserts were provided by the Lake Hopatcong club.
