WCPTH club members attended the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) Middle Atlantic Region Conference at the Sheraton Parsippany, Parsippany, NJ. this October 1 through the 4th.
158 members of the GFWC from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware attended the annual conference. Babs Condon of Maryland, GFWC International President and Shelia Shea of Massachusetts, GFWC President-elect were in attendance as club members were giving updated project information and new techniques for club management.
The emphasis of the weekend was Awareness and Prevention of Domestic Violence.
Parsippany Mayor James Barberio presented MAR Region President Deen Meloro of Park Ridge, NJ with a Proclamation recognizing the value of volunteers and the work done by the Middle Atlantic Region
During the Conference, members heard presentations form Canine Companions for Independence, Shot @ life, UNICEF and information on attracting new members and fundraising ideas.
The General Federation of Women’s Clubs is a unifying force, bringing together local women’s clubs, with members dedicated to strengthening their communities and enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.
